Ace of Clay Launches Epiclay™, a New Polymer Clay Developed for Sculpting

Four years in development, Epiclay™ combines the workability and detail retention sculptors expect from traditional polymer clay with exceptional flexibility after baking.

DETROIT, Mich. — September 2026 — Ace of Clay®, a sculptor and sculpting brand, today announced the launch of Epiclay™, a new polymer clay developed specifically for sculptors, artists, hobbyists, and makers. Designed for character sculpture, figurines, miniatures, and other detailed polymer clay projects, Epiclay™ offers easy conditioning, low crumbling, excellent detail retention, and a flexible, durable finish after baking.

Epiclay™ was developed with a clear goal: to create a polymer clay that feels great to sculpt with, performs reliably throughout the creative process, and remains flexible and durable after baking. The result is a clay designed to deliver flexibility without sacrificing workability.

“Epiclay is the polymer clay I always wanted to sculpt with,” said Ace of Clay. “I wanted something solid and responsive, easy to condition, enjoyable to sculpt with straight out of the package, and capable of holding fine detail. Once baked, I wanted flexibility and durability too. I spent four years trying to get those things into one clay.”

Two Firmnesses Designed for Different Sculpting Preferences

Epiclay™ is available in Soft and Firm formulations. Both condition easily and offer low crumbling straight from the package. Soft has a smooth, buttery feel without being overly sticky, while Firm provides the same feel with greater resistance for sculptors who prefer a firmer working clay without being excessively hard or difficult to condition.

Both formulations remain workable until baked and cure strong, durable, and highly flexible. Epiclay™ bakes in a standard kitchen oven at 275°F for approximately 20-30 minutes, depending on the project, can be baked multiple times, and accepts acrylic paint, pigments, and other common sculpture-finishing materials.

Each one-pound box contains two individually wrapped inner packages, allowing artists to open only the clay they need while keeping the remaining portion sealed. Epiclay™ is ACMI-certified non-toxic and available directly from Ace of Clay at aceofclay.com.
